We are deeply saddened to learn the news of the passing of Dr José Baselga, Executive Vice President Oncology R&D, AstraZeneca and eminent medical researcher in Breast Cancer.
tranScrip’s Head of Oncology, Linda Summerton commented, “During my time at AstraZeneca I had the pleasure of working with José. José’s discoveries helped pave the way for new breast cancer therapies. He was not only a talented researcher but a lovely person.”
In his honour, José’s daughter, Clara Baselga-Garriga has orgainised a fundraiser to help raise awareness around CJD and its impact on its victims and their families. Specifically, Clara is requesting donations for those on the frontlines of cutting-edge neurodegenerative research at el Hospital Clinic, with the hopes that, one day, no family will experience the pain José’s family are enduring.
