A Message from our Chief Medical Officer

Dear colleagues and friends,

As we approach the close of another extraordinary year at tranScrip, I’m excited to reflect on our achievements and share some great opportunities that lie ahead.

This month’s newsletter is filled with updates that exemplify the depth of our expertise, the growth of our team, and our unwavering commitment to making a lasting impact in the life sciences sector.

Last week we contributed to an important annual campaign: the World Antimicrobial Awareness Week. This is an important initiative to remind us all about the need to continue to outsmart emergence and spread of resistance. I was able to share some insights on the role of pharmaceutical development in addressing antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The global public health threat of AMR requires smarter antibiotic development and collaboration across public and private sectors: we all have essential roles to play to manage this permanent challenge.

At tranScrip, we are continually pushing boundaries to tackle pressing healthcare issues and deliver innovative solutions. None of this would be possible without the dedication of our talented team and the trust we’ve earned from our clients.

I hope you enjoy this month’s edition of the newsletter and that you will join us in celebrating our milestones as we look forward to an even more impactful future.

Thank you for being an essential part of our journey. Together, we can continue driving positive change in healthcare.

Warm regards, Rienk Pypstra, CMO, tranScrip

Welcoming our New Joiners

We are delighted to welcome Chris Bart as our new Talent Acquisition Manager. With nearly 15 years of experience in recruitment, including roles at CPL/Clinical Professionals, Fraser Dove, and Skills Alliance, Chris brings deep expertise in life sciences talent.

Chris will lead our talent acquisition strategy, focusing on recruitment. His knowledge of the life sciences sector makes him a great fit for this role.

Fun fact: Chris is also a former professional rugby player from New Zealand – but we hope his skills on the field stay retired.

AMR in Focus

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) represents a looming global threat to public health, as our continued ability to treat infections is not only key in the context of contagious diseases, but also a critical component in the management of other indications (such as inflammatory diseases, transplantation, orthopaedics, and oncology) which involve immune modulatory or immunosuppressive therapies, and rely on total clearance of pathogens.

In recognition of World Antimicrobial Awareness Week, we collaborated with Mediaplanet and Horizon Magazine on impactful campaigns addressing the critical challenges of AMR. In these features, our Chief Medical Officer and Head of Infectious Diseases, Rienk Pypstra, draws on his experience and expertise to share valuable insights into smarter antibiotic development and the groundbreaking work of EU-funded scientists who are collaborating across borders to accelerate research and discover new treatments addressing AMR.

Upcoming Conferences and Events

We have a lineup of exciting conferences and events scheduled for the next couple of months, and we are looking forward to connecting with both familiar faces and new contacts. These gatherings provide a fantastic opportunity for meaningful discussions, knowledge sharing, and exploring the latest industry trends. They also serve as a great platform to discuss potential collaborations and partnerships that drive innovation and mutual growth. If you will be attending any of these events, please let us know – we would love to reconnect.

Rienk Pypstra will be moderating an insightful panel discussion at One Nucleus’ Genesis conference next week, “What Happens After the Deal is Signed?”

While the buzz around dealmaking often highlights partner searches, negotiation, and due diligence, the real challenge—and opportunity—begins after the deal is sealed. How can partnering parties collaborate effectively to unlock maximum value post-deal?

Rienk and industry leaders will be sharing insights, best practices, and lessons learned on what truly makes deals work after the ink has dried.

Flic Gabbay and Inigo Montes will join Rienk at Genesis to reconnect, foster useful discussions, and explore collaborative opportunities while building valuable connections.

Our team are looking forward to attending JPM Week in San Francisco in January. tranScrip’s Chief Executive Officer, Mark Corbett, and Founder, SVP Business Development, Flic Gabbay, will be there from 13-17 January and are excited to connect with fellow professionals and explore new opportunities. If you’re attending, let’s meet up and discuss potential collaborations > Schedule a Meeting
